An intriguing and mysterious play featuring the famed private detective Sherlock Holmes. This play was adapted from a collection of short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The short stories adapted include…
“A Scandal in Bohemia” is the first of the 56 Holmes short stories written by Doyle. The story is notable for introducing the character of Irene Adler, who is one of the most notable female characters in the Sherlock Holmes series, despite appearing in only one story. Doyle ranked “A Scandal in Bohemia” fifth in his list of his twelve favourite Holmes stories.
“The Adventure of the Speckled Band” is one of four Sherlock Holmes stories that can be classified as a locked room mystery. Doyle later revealed that he thought this was his best Holmes story.
“The Adventure of the Devil’s Foot” is one of eight stories in the cycle collected as His Last Bow. Doyle ranked “The Adventure of the Devil’s Foot” ninth in his list of his twelve favorite Holmes stories.
“The Adventure of the Dancing Men“, is a story that Doyle ranked third in his list of his twelve favorite Holmes stories. This is one of only two Sherlock Holmes short stories where Holmes’ client dies after seeking his help.
